Andean Music Experience

We start our experience with a walk around San Blas, where you will not only see the artists working on their different professions but where you will mainly “breath” the local art! Our destination: our musician’s home.

He will welcome us by displaying, explaining about the history and playing the local instruments which have been played before Inca times and the ones inspired by the conquistadors’ influence which are nowadays part of a blended culture.

You can play your favorite among drums, strings, and wind instruments. The Andean ones: bombos, quenas, chajchas, pututus…; the Spain-inspired ones such as the traditional charango or the Afro-Peruvian instruments: cajón, quijada de burro (jawbones)… get ready to learn how to play one of the most emblematic Andean pipes, the zampoña.

Our musician will teach us not only how to play this instrument but also how to make it. Yes, you will make your zampoña! and keep it with you, so that you can keep developing your Andean musical skills.

At the end of this activity, you will be playing as the Incas used to do, expressing yourself through the music. And the most important thing, you will be part of this millenary culture.

Duration: 2h30
