“Reset!” That’s a word we probably think about when we feel that everything goes wrong and we need to start all over again.
The world changed these last two years, and Peru has been going through a sanitary, economic, political, and social crisis. It’s not the way we thought we will commemorate our 200 years of independence.
However, this is not the first time we have been in a situation like this, and we survived.
So, what a better way to start again than taking our bicentennial chapter as a new beginning.
Over the years, we got over tough situations because, despite all the problems we might have, we also have powerful reasons in common to be proud of, a beautiful country rich in culture and history.
This South American country with more than thirty-one million inhabitants has been blessed with coastal, highland, and jungle regions supplying us with eighty-four different climates and diverse ecosystems.
The abundance of natural resources makes mining and agriculture the main Peruvian economic activities.
Outstanding landscapes, a complex history, and a blended culture are some of the reasons tourism is also huge in Peru. Awarded repetitive times World’s Best Culinary Destination by the World Travel Awards and owning several UNESCO World Heritage sites, make us proud of our inheritance.
The coast, bathed by the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean, surprises us with millenary civilizations mysteries and with the contrast between romantic beaches and active sea wildlife.
Climbing little by little in elevation, highlands take our breath away –literally– by a landscape blending harmoniously snow-capped mountains, glaciers, lakes, and imposing archeological sites like the ones belonging to the greatest pre-Hispanic kingdom in South America.
On the other side of the Andes, the Amazon jungle recalls the greatness of nature through the most exuberant scenery of local flora and fauna, magical waterfalls, and mystical rivers.
For all these reasons we will keep moving forward. Thanks to a land given to us by the ancestral gods and thanks to the strength of our hard-working people, we see the future with hope and excitement.
Happy 200th independence’ anniversary my beloved Peru!
Join us for the celebration!
